How to Use
Neck Fixx Pro is a powerful and effective device to help improve neck mobility and decrease pain. When you are starting to use this product, less can be more. This is especially true if the tissues are inflamed. We need to ease our way into improved motion, not force the joints or tissues. 4-5 times a day of light movement will be better than once a day used aggressively. The consistent use throughout the day and subsequent days are going to give you the best results.
Neck Fixx Pro has convenient loops for hand position variations to easily adjust the tension of the band. The nubs on the Fixx Sleeve are used to gain traction on the little boney prominences on the spine to get the best results.
Pain Management Fixx
Managing pain can be a priority with any neck issues. Neck pain directly impacts quality of life. Getting out of pain is the first step to allowing you to Fixx your limitations. This is your starting place, after pain is lessened, you can move to a more specific program. This program can be done throughout the day and should be done lightly with the intent of calming down the neck.
Rotation Limitations Fixx
Having a limitation with rotating your neck can have significant impact on daily life, from checking your blind spots while driving to turning your head to talk to someone. This is one of the most common neck issues that can be easily managed with Neck Fixx Pro. This limitation is caused by the small joints in the neck tightening up causing limited motion. We can get these mobilized and moving better to fixx rotational restrictions.
Extension (Looking Up) Fixx
A stiff neck in the morning can be frustrating and limit your ability to function at your best throughout the day. This is a common neck issue that can be easily managed with Neck Fixx Pro. This limitation is caused by the small joints in the neck tightening up causing limited motion. By adding in this extension specific mobilization to the joints we can loosen up the joints to free up our motion.
Headaches Fixx
There are many different types and causes for headaches. This technique is designed to help with tension headaches that originate at the neck and base of the skull. By loosening up the small suboccipital muscles, we can improve nerve flow and take pressure away from the nerves that cause tension headaches. These are small muscles and don’t need much pressure to get a good release. Especially if you are having a significant headache, less is more. Start with light pressure and add more as tolerated. Too much can aggravate your headache and make it worse.
Cervical Disc Herniation Fixx
Cervical disc herniations have a wide range of variability in pain patterns and severity of symptoms. This is linked to how much the disc is pressing into the nerve as it exits out between the bones in the neck. There are different distributions of sensory, pain and motor patterns coordinated with each spinal/nerve level. Figuring out which level and how flared up the nerve is will help to adjust how aggressive you can be with this extension-based program.
Cervical Nerve Root Fixx
A nerve root irritation can be very similar in symptoms to a cervical disc herniation but will respond better to a different style of treatment. The goal of this is to open up the area where the nerve exits out off. The nerve is being irritated due to lack of space where it exits but that lack or space is due to arthritis, inflammation, or other pathologies not a disc herniation. The goal of this is to open up that joint space to take pressure off the nerve root, to allow improved nerve flow.
Self-Massage Fixx
Getting the muscle to relax is a part of all neck pain programs. The muscle can tighten up as a secondary problem from a disc herniation, nerve root irritation, joint hypomobility, and other issues, or can be primary from whiplash or neck muscle strains. Getting the muscles to relax and loosen up will help to break any pain cycle and allow for improved movement. You can follow this up with some light stretching and exercises to keep the results you gained.
Neck Strength Fixx
Improving neck strength is the best way to help with long-term results to keep neck pain away. Combining neck specific exercises with postural exercises will be the best way keep neck pain away. Start small with the exercises and let the muscles get used to having this new stress through them. It is common to have muscle soreness after starting this program for the first 1-2 sessions.
Supine Traction Fixx
The body likes traction, while traction will not fixx any limitations, it relaxes the muscles, takes pressure off joints and allows the neck to decompress. This can also be used in the same way as with the Headaches Fixx protocol to help get into the suboccipital muscles to relieve headaches. You can add in a partner to provide a more relaxing option.
